Professional Teacher Development Fun Day
Another Professional Teacher Development Day was successfully held on 8 July 2022 at the Hong Kong Southern District Government Primary School. This face-to-face event came at the perfect time to allow all teaching staff to take a refreshing break before the school examination period started in the following week.
Over 40 participants including the principal, vice-principal, and teachers joined the fun day. The event kicked off with a brief introduction to physical literacy, followed by a taster session of the “Fun to Move Everywhere” - a big board game designed to enhance fundamental movement skills (FMS) and health-related fitness in a creative way. All participants were getting worked up over the game. Concurrently, fitness fun stations were set up including curl-up, shoulder stretch, handgrip tests; FMS assessment using the Project’s automated FMS rater; and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). The group testing run smoothly and efficiently with social interaction and encouragement – all activities were designed for even non-PE teachers can master. The team wrapped up the 3-hour fun day with a team building game using Dodgebee.
The purpose of “Professional Teacher Development Fun Day” was to promote teachers’ physical, mental, and social well-being. All teaching staff in the Project schools are welcome to join us.
