PE Teacher Focus Group Sharing Sessions (Teleconferencing)
During school closures amid coronavirus outbreak, Fun to Move@JC remained in close contact with teachers from Project schools. We conducted 4 focus group sharing sessions via ZOOM with 40 PE teachers from 29 schools between 4 and 6 March, 2020. The 1-hour focus groups gave PE teachers an opportunity to express their views and experiences on the implementation of school-wide PA policy. They were guided to reflect on initiatives aimed at fostering active school environments based on the 5 main areas of “Fun to Move Index”, namely
1) “Fun to Move” Sporting Culture;
2) School-based PE Policy;
3) Quality Physical Education;
4) Parent/Family Engagement; and
5) Staff Involvement.
The sharing sessions were fruitful, in which the facilitators and barriers of school participation in the Project were explored and identified. The findings will enable more effective strategies to be conducted in Project schools to support teachers and meet school-based needs.

Teacher workshop – Quality Physical Education: Integrating Physical Literacy Into School PE
Children with physical literacy encompass the motivation, confidence (“want to move”), physical competence (“can move”), knowledge and understanding (“value moving”) to value, develop and maintain positive physical activity behaviours for life (“keep moving”). As PE teachers play an important role in promoting physical literacy among students, our Project is dedicated to provide professional development opportunities to inform teachers regarding the concept, and its application to support the whole-person development of students. This teacher workshop was divided into three parts: 1) Sharing on the concept of physical literacy and its integration in school PE; 2) Practical session for take-away fun activities; 3) Brief introduction and demonstration of Fun to Move Challenge Event - the first-ever student competition in fundamental movement skills among Hong Kong primary schools. The teachers were engaged in a range of activities and discussions led by Professor Ha and the Project Team.

Inter-school PTA Family Activity Day
Parents play a crucial role in influencing their children to develop an active lifestyle. In the sharing session, Professor Ha, Principal Investigator of the Project introduced the concept of Physical Literacy, while parents shared their experience in participating in the activity classes held at their school. Representatives of the school parent-teacher associations (PTAs) also exchanged views with the project team. The occasion has provided a valuable opportunity for the PTAs to explore potential collaborations with the project, thereby reaching out to more families.
Activity zones themed under ball skills, locomotor skills and partner-stretching exercises were held to give some fun ideas for the families to get moving!

PE Assessment & Accreditation Days
Fun to Move@JC is committed to promote quality physical education (QPE). We place great emphasis on assessment as an integral part of the learning, teaching and assessment cycle. In November and December 2019, we conducted three "PE Assessment & Accreditation Days" to enhance teachers’ knowledge, understanding, and skills in PE assessments. In total, 78 teachers from 26 project schools participated in the accreditation activities and fulfilled the professional standards of using internationally recognized assessment methods to make well-founded judgments on students’ performance in fundamental movement skills and health-related fitness. Positive post-event responses were received from participating teachers. Teachers enjoyed the non-threatening test atmosphere that was optimal to familiarize themselves with the assessment methods, guidelines and criteria. The accreditation activities helped increase teachers’ knowledge and skills, thereby enabling objective and formative assessments to be conducted in PE classrooms for improving student learning and teaching effectiveness.
